Amazon Video is the streaming service with more local productions in the US

Learn more about BB Media at Stream TV Show from the 6th to the 8th of June 2022 in Denver, United States.

One of the stances that the event promotes is that streaming has officially surpassed linear pay TV as the predominant method for viewing content.  This is no surprise when we take into account that there are currently 184 platforms in the US, with more than 9 in development. What is more, the amount of total content in the country is +264K, with 81,76% (197K) of it being movies and 18,24% (66K), series.

Amazon Video has the largest content catalog in the US, with 90,355 titles, followed by iTunes (49,172) and Google Play Movies (44,296). Between the leading SVODs, DirecTV has more local (US) titles, 15,230 in total, with Hoopla in second place (8,776) and Roku in third (7,692).

The US currently ranks as the country with the most productions globally, followed closely by the United Kingdom, India, Japan, France and Germany. The top 3 most watched titles by people in this country are The Batman, Moon Knight and The Northman, all of them blockbusters and action-packed movies produced locally.

The US is not only the country with the most content worldwide, but also has around 600 types of plans among its Streaming platforms. Of these, we can highlight that Prime Video, Hulu and Apple TV offer to the users the largest number of plans, and the three of them also provide the option to sign up for a free trial.

Adriana Franco, Country Manager México & Central America, will attend the event on behalf of BB Media, global Data Science company specialized in Media and Entertainment for more than 35 years.

Adriana will present at the event one of the company’s latest releases, the Multiscreens+ service, which lays out an analysis of the content offer of streaming platforms. Special emphasis will be placed on the report Content Pulse, which is focused on the monitoring of the content available on streaming platforms and its standardized metadata. Multiscreens+ has inspired large amounts of clients in the UK, India, USA, Spain and even multiple Southeast Asian countries, with global data on content offerings on +2,500 platforms available in +160 countries.
